Elegant southern American native fern. Easily adapts to a variety of soils in warmer winter climates. Produces light green upright fronds on an open fountain shaped plant. Spreads by rhizomes into colonies. Excellent choice for shaded foundation planting, and beds under established shade trees. Naturalizes with other understory natives in wild gardens. Equally at home in wet or dry shade. Semi-evergreen or herbaceous. Non-hardy. |
